Well prepared pistes,
perfectly groomed cross-country trails, fast tobogganing
runs and idyllic hiking trails are a sure-fire
recipe for enjoying winter sports.
Numerous skiing locations with pistes of varying
degrees of difficulty can be reached from the Schlössl
within a few minutes by car, bus, etc. Within the
municipal district of Haimig there is a nearby cable
railway to the Hoch-Oetz skiing area.
It’s only 8 km from the hotel or approx. 20
minutes by car. Our hotel shuttle bus also drives
to this skiing area, once or twice a day. The popular,
well-known world-cup village of Sölden with
its splendid glacier slopes is in the immediate vicinity,
too, and can be reached by public transport (skiing
bus) for free. Kühtai, Austria’s highest
skiing village, 2020 m above sea level, is only 16
km from here and can thus be reached within approx.
25-30 minutes.
New: Winter hiking trail from Sattele to Feldringer
Alm.
New: The cross-country trail in Ochsengarten has
been extended and turned into a winter hiking trail.

Skiing and
snowboarding
In the Ötztal you can ski
and snowboard in six skiing areas
of various degrees of difficulty. |
| |
|
|
 |
In the nearby Hoch-Oetz, which was awarded
the Tyrolean prize for quality pistes,
your whole family will feel at home.
Kühtai, Austria’s highest skiing
village, can be reached within 15 minutes.
Parents and children can ski to their heart’s
content, and snow is guaranteed right through
the end of the season. There are plenty
of opportunities for après-skiing
indulgence in the Kühtai, too.
110 km of enjoyable pistes are just waiting
for you in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl skiing
region. Everybody will find a slope that
he likes, and queuing at the lifts is rather
unlikely.
Vent is a small distinct skiing area for
skiers looking for quiet and recreation
away from the hustle and bustle of the
entertainment industry. The well-prepared
tobogganing run offers a varied program
for adults and children in the skiing circus.
Three 3,000 m mountains attract altitude
addicts to the slopes of the Söldener
Gletscher (glaciers). But it's not just
the skiers that are having fun in Sölden.
The annual glacier festival and the open-air
theatre production of Hannibal attract
many arts and music lovers to the Ötztal.

mountains is becoming increasingly
popular, and experienced excursionists
will get their money’s
worth. |

Skiing tours: Change is the name of the
game! The anterior Ötztal offers plenty
of traditional skiing tours in a marvellous
alpine setting. From the beginner's to
the professional level, here you will find
people of all ages, who like mountain tours.
Climb impressive peaks and experience the

Cross-country
skiing
On 85 km of well-prepared pistes you can race downhill
either skiing in the traditional way or carving the powder. |
| |
|
|
 |
Just recently, a new cross-country trail
was created in Ochsengarten, but also the
Kühtai is an attractive destination
for cross-country skiers. A hot tip are
the cross-country trails in Niederthai.
If you would like an Olympic setting for
a change… The attractive cross-country
retreats of Seefeld and Leutasch are only
half an hour from here by car.

|
|
 |
Tobogganing
Many alpine huts are also open in the winter and offer
access to well-groomed tobogganing runs, sometimes
even floodlit during the night. |
| |
|
|
 |
An authentic toboggan ride, whether taken
leisurely or at a rapid speed, is really
cool to break your daily skiing routine.
It’s great fun not only for children!
Tip: After a climb of approx. 1 hour to
the "Graf Ferdinand Haus" you
will find a great 2.5 km toboggan run floodlit
at night. Let’s go!

Snow
shoe tours
If you are not so good at mastering the slopes but still
want to experience the great outdoors, try a snow shoe
tour for a change. |
| |
|
|
 |
This new trend sport will lead you to
pristine mountain landscape covered with
a thick blanket of snow right to the mountain
peaks glistening in the sun.
Guided snow shoe tours through the Ötztal
mountains are a sure-fire recipe for enjoying
yourself in the snow with the whole family.
Night hikes: Equipped with head lamps,
we will guide you over a white blanket
of snow in the quiet and darkness of the
night. You will hear the crunching of snow
crystals under your every step, with stars
twinkling in the sky. This will be an extraordinary
outing for the whole family.
